In the middle of winter I think many people are anticipating the start of spring and the planting season. My garden is never very large or grand, but even the few potted flowers I start each March on my patio are so welcome.

A wonderful capture of light and it so makes me long for spring... maybe summer!
ReplyDeleteIt won't be too long, Shirley! Then let the color begin!
DeleteFABULOUS - FABULOUS - AND AN EXTRA - FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you, Julie! You are so generous with your kind words!
DeleteGorgeous color as always, Carol. You can't beat those pastels for brilliance.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a big reason I use them - that they come in the most gorgeous colors with different intensities. Thanks again, Libby!
DeleteThis flower is amazing, Carol!! You did a beautiful job on color and love the light hitting the flower!!! Do you use Unisom for the yellows! Very rich!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Hilda. I do use a lot of Unison pastels because they apply so well to the semi-rough paper I use. I think I also used some Sennelier and a few Rembrandt with this one. Aren't we lucky to have such quality pastel manufacturers?
DeleteJust stunning, Carol!!! Your sense of color and value is exquisite and the end result is such a beautiful drama of light and shadow! Love this!
ReplyDeleteI can only figure that my early childhood must have been in black and white, Lorraine, because now I just go CCRRAAAAZZYYY with the color. Pastel sticks these days are a feast of hues, and it's difficult to hold back. I'm working on it! Thank you very much, Lorraine, for commenting!
DeleteBeautiful paintings, fascinating process. Love all the different hues in the petals, lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diana. I look forward to your posts very much. Your latest, the Brie and bread, was just excellent!
DeleteStunning Carol ! Just really love this , so full of light and the background is awesome too !
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jane. I appreciate you writing. I have been admiring YOUR most recent painting, "Nude Profile." The shadows are superb as are the lines in it. Great job!
DeleteThis is so beautiful. I love the background, too!
ReplyDeleteVirginia, thank you so much! This one was so much fun to do.
