It is so good to be back posting once again. As planned, I used my time recovering
to read, to research and to plan some projects and
themes I'd like to try. There are so many good articles and visual examples of
art techniques on the internet now, and
I was fortunate to see many demos that stroked that
excitement and curiosity button in my head.
I certainly want to thank you all
for your prayers, thoughts and kind, kind words
during that time. I'm doing well, and look forward to reading
your blogs and seeing the new ideas and works that you post.
Our weather here is sunny and warm and the flowers are beginning to
blossom. "Love is in the air" as you can see in these photos my husband recently took.
Good day Carol, so glad things are going well and you are back. Be kind to yourself and take it slowly for a bit longer. Set-backs are not allowed!

Wow, your first painting for a while and how beautiful it is! Perfect balance and colours, you outdid yourself. Love the photos too, from your hubby, well he is somebody that can take wonderful ref photos for you to paint from! So glad that you are back and painting.

DeleteWe have lots of javelina in this area. This particular group was in a very mellow mood. We try to be cautious around them especially when they have young ones, but they were content to chill and be photographed this day. They ARE well fed as they raid our trash barrels and eat the prickly pear when they can reach them.
So happy you are back and with a bang. That is one gorgeous painting. Vibrant is an understatement. Beautiful.

Oh, Helen, it is wonderful to be blogging again! I have missed it, but have enjoyed a chance to look at others' works and ideas! You inspired me with your portrait in your last post! I am working on several small pieces with faces hopefully with interesting expressions. I'm experimenting in pastel trying to use values that are appropriate for the correct skin tones. A challenge!! Wish me luck, my friend!
