She's another great example of an artist who has "seen" the structure of trees, the colors, the shapes and the effects of light on the various parts. As you described, she understands how the light from the sky affects the trees various parts including the light THROUGH the branches. Like you, she writes about loving trees, too. I'm always taken by how she handles the sky against the leaves, branches, clusters---achieves a kind of iridescence.Lorraine Shirkushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08289581724600276889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2112630515552086897.post-23107106944738857972011-04-01T09:35:33.437-07:002011-04-01T09:35:33.437-07:00I think you're exactly right about the advice,...I think you're exactly right about the advice, Libby. I read somewhere though about understanding the structure of how trees grow and using this understanding as the basis for painting them. Sounds kind of simple but I liked the advice.Libby Fifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13532162740012986996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2112630515552086897.post-51358309286351514342011-04-01T05:07:41.393-07:002011-04-01T05:07:41.393-07:00Carol, your expertise in so many subjects is reall...Carol, your expertise in so many subjects is really showing the fantastic growth you are making in your painting.
