What CAN'T you do with lemons in a still life setup? You can stack them up, line them up or slice them up. Any way you pose them, they're fun!

Beautiful still life, Carol! Incredible texture on these realistic lemons!!
ReplyDeleteHilda, thank you! Texture is something I love to play with!
DeleteAnd when you are all done painting, you can make lemon bars!
ReplyDeleteYou did a lot with those lemons-I like the warmth of their skins and the cool blue/violet touches in the plate.
Thank you, Libby! I LIKE the idea of lemon bars!
DeleteGorgeous lemons - the shapes and textures and touches of oranges and reds are lovely. And, of course, the lemon against violet colors are wonderful together. Well done!
ReplyDeleteRhonda, thank you very much. I've been debating going back in and putting some reflected violet light into the pears. I didn't catch it until later.
DeleteOnce again you have captured that gorgeous clean color and great texture on the lemons. You are right lemons are great not only in paintings but in pie, lemonade, with fish etc.
ReplyDeleteGreat still life Carol! Awesome job on the lemons and I love the purple plate!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your comments very much, Karen. I enjoyed working on the values of the lemons. It's fun to try to get a wide range of a particular color - from light to dark.
DeleteThis is beautiful, Carol. I love how there are touches of yellow from the lemons in the plate, and touches of green in the lemons. Really beautiful values in the lemons...so plump and fresh! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Virginia! I am grateful for your time in commenting!
