Red Fox 8" X 8" Oil on Gessobord

RED FOX

Another painting based on a PMP photo by Steven J. Berkowitz.
I'm so grateful to all the photographers who generously post their
works on PMP (Paint My Photo)
for artists like myself  who do not live in a region where animals
like the Red Fox and others live.

I wish you and your family a very wonderful New Year, Diana. I look forward to seeing many more of your incredible art pieces in the coming year. I know what you mean about this guy's eyes. He stared at me the whole time I painted. Kind of unnerving!

Lucky you to have seen one in person. They certainly are beautiful. PMP had all these great fox photos and I couldn't resist!!

I'm sorry about your bout with the flu. It's got to be a bummer to heal from a bad fall and then to catch the flu! Hope things improve for you quickly! I enjoy your artwork so very much!

Thank you, Jane for such a nice comment. You are able to see into a painting so well.

I agree with "the strong glare." Once one of my first grade boys said, "Mrs. Flatt doesn't raise her voice, Mom. She just gives us 'The LOOK!'"

  4. Ah Carol I love your fox...he is gorgeous. We are fortunate at times to catch site of them where I live. They are more nocturnal so rather rare to see them in the day. Have a blessed weekend. Hugs! P.S. Thank you so much for stopping to visit me.

  6. The way you captured the jelly like substance of the eye knocked my socks off. Most people just add a highlight and it looks good but you went a huge step further and created the perfect inside of the eye! Love the rest too but cannot stop looking at how you did the eyes. Good to have you back with a post!

Your comment made me smile, Julie. I appreciate that you take the time to write. The photo that had the fox was such a good one with excellent lighting and color. One could see every detail of the eye. It looked to me that foxes don't have the "white" in the eye as we do. The whole eye background was yellow...different shades of yellow, but all yellow nonetheless.
