It's Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White pastel 6" X 8"

Where I grew up in Washington State Spring always announced itself with beautiful blossoms on many fruit and decorative trees. It was all quite a show and impressed itself on my young mind. There was a song with the lyrics you see in the title of this painting. I can still sing the tune and remember a portion of the lyrics, but I cannot remember who the singer was. Perhaps one of you can tell me.

I hope this week will be good to you and bring you something beautiful!

  2. Very lovely. Those blossoms are so delicate aren't they? You really captured that too. We have those blossoms here in CA too of course and yes, it always announces the arrival of Spring even if it is in February!

    1. You're right about that, Libby. There can be five inches of snow on the ground, yet the blossoms are blooming! Always takes my breath away, though! Thank you for writing!

Beautiful colors and beautifully painted. The focus flower looks as if I could reach right out and pick it off the branch. Also love the tiny gold stamens!

    1. Melanie, thank you for your thoughtful comment. I like that color combo as well. The colors seem to support one another without one taking over the whole show.

    1. I very much appreciate your kind comment, Mary. The painting brought back some good memories while I was working on it. My mom had a dogwood tree in our yard. The blossoms were pink on that one, and I always thought how beautiful it was.

    1. Thank you, Debbie. You always say the nicest things. There's something magical about tree blossoms. You don't expect pink and soft on a rough, dark tree. Kind of wonderful, really!

  9. So alive and sensitive! Beautifully painted! I'm going to Spokane to visit a college friend. I've probably missed the cherry blossoms but look forward to seeing a new landscape and experiencing your neck of the woods . . .
