Shades of Green 8" X 8" Pastel SOLD

Recently, I bought some Terry Ludwig sets of warm and cool greens. Green has always been a difficult color for me in that I feel I never have enough greens or never the RIGHT one. Now, no more excuses. If the RIGHT one isn't in the sets I don't need it. Honest!

  1. Wow! This one is gorgeous. Those greens (the variety and color punch) are just wonderful. Sounds like a great set of pastels.

    1. Thank you, Libby! The old cliche "like a kid in a candy store" fits perfectly in this case.

  2. This is GORGEOUS, Carol! When I went to Gramercy Park to see the pastel exhibit they were selling pastels of all kinds....YES, I was also that kid in a candy store! Soft, hard, subtle and brilliant ! Every kind you need! I also agree that the perfect green is very difficult to find... I'll have to look into Terry Ludwig. Again, this is such a beautiful painting!!.

  3. This is amazing and very beautiful, Carol. I love the way you zoomed into the center and have the light hitting it so dramatically. neat to know that there is a set of warm/cool greens out there. You still have to have the masters touch to place them in the right places.

    1. I'm grateful for your comment, Julie, and appreciate you writing. The warm and cool green sets I have were and will be a great help to me, I'm sure. There is another set called "Neutral Greens" that rounds it all out. It's on my "Wish List" so maybe one day.....
Whenever I look at your work, Julie, I admire your skill with the choice of greens. The colors always look so alive!!

    1. How nice of you to comment, Suzanne! When I saw this photo I, too, was delighted with the perspective from which the photographer shot the picture. It was something a little different and really appealed to me.

    1. Thank you very much, Lorraine! I enjoyed using all the blues, greens and yellows...some of my favorite colors. The succulent was a good subject in which to mesh all of those.
