"OUT TO PASTURE" Oil on board SOLD

For being "put out to pasture" this old car doesn't appear to be completely lost. There is a bit (okay, more than a "bit") of rust, but the wheels are still on, the windows are intact and both headlights are attached. Seems to me it might have a second life in the right hands.

  1. How fun is that? For all of the rust, you sure managed to make that car look elegant! I think it did get a second life here:)

  2. Thanks, Libby. I notice even the windshield wiper is still on. Someone could have a really nice car!

  3. There is something so cool about these old cars. Kind of like a sculpture? Hope you're well away from the fires. Sounds awful. Guess I shouldn't complain about the amount of wet, dreary weather we've had.

  4. I agree, Stephanie. This is the first old car I've done, and it was very instructive. Trying to leave OUT details and focus on just the shapes necessary to convey the idea has always been a big challenge for me. Not sure I was able to do that. Than you for your concern. The fires in Arizona now are not too near us. The biggest one is in northern AZ about 300 miles away.I feel for those people who have left or lost their homes.

  5. I like this. The colors, contrast, compostion, background and CAR! I love these relics of the past and it is always a joy to see them live on.
