Must be the big, brown eyes and the friendly looks of cows that makes them irresistible to a painter. Whenever we travel my husband knows a herd of cows means "Pull over so I can get some photos!"

I was able to paint with some of my seldom-used iridescent pastels for touches on his wings...a rare opportunity.

"BEST FRIENDS FOREVER" 11" X 14" Pastel



In the southern Arizona area where I live we have lots of Gambel's Quail. The Spring is the time of year when their eggs hatch, and it's not uncommon to see a string of four to ten baby quail following their parents.
